The most useful approach to use in critically analyzing The Old Man and The Sea by Ernest Hemingway is Santiago as a Christ Figure.

There are a lot of points that very similar to the situations of Jesus Christ. OMS connects to the story of Christ. I raise some examples. Santiago's injury of hands were as that Christ's hands was hitted nails. Santiago ate the row fish, this is related with that Christ taught us to eat it as my body. I think that the purpose of injuries of Santiago was as similar as Christ one. Santiago had been extremely injered to feed many people, and Jesus Christ had been awfully injered and died for all of people were allowed. Like this, the relations were clealy shown. Hemingway wrote this intentional, so "Santiago as a Christ Figure" is a most useful approach to use in critically analyzing.

The main characters in Old Man and the Sea are Santiago, a fisherman and manolin, a boy who helps him. Three adjectives that discribe Manolin is 1) sociable, 2) friendly and 3) independent. He wants to be with old man who is not be in a blood relations, so he is a sociable person. He is also a friendly boy because he realy loves Santiago. Without his friendly mind, Santiago couldn't open his mind to Manolin. The cause of chosing the word "independent" is that Manolin deside to live with Santiago even he has a father.

How do "good" college teachers present information?"

According to Meiland, a "good" college teacher presents information in the following way. Firstly, good teachers never say "This is a collect answer." They usually say to students like this "This theory is currently believed." What is a difference between these two sentences? If teachers tell the one, students just believe them. However, the later, the teachers make their students to have enough room to think about what is the fact. In short, a "good# collage teacher doesn't teach clearly and just gives a few hints as not the fact but the only theory. When a teacher speaks something, a "bad" teacher teach a theory with basis of authority and a "good" one teach a theory with basis of reason. I agree to Meiland's opinion. The students are require to think and analyze the theory by themselves, because only accept the words spoken by a teacher is not able to get the real meaning of the words. The active attitude for learning is important for students, I think. So, the teacher's mission is that do not prevent such the student attitude. The teacher has to choose the saying very carefully. However, I think it's difficult for collage teachers, because the teachers have a lot of knowledge of their area of expertise, and they want students to know all of that. Then they may forget to be a "good" teacher. So, I think, the teacher who can limit own wish is also a "good" teacher.
